A couple of tips before you start!

Our cubes are freshly frozen straight from the source. Please make sure to keep the cubes frozen after use to make the most out of your stock. 

If you use one of the cubes as an ingredient for smoothies, don’t bother and just get that frozen Spirulina in there and mix. 

For any other recipe, we suggest taking the cube from the freezer and letting it stand (in a small bowl) for a few minutes before use. The cube will melt slightly making it much easier to implement into the recipe. 

  • PESTO TOMATO SOUP

    Ingredients for 4 serves

    60g fresh tomatoes
    3 cans of tomatoes
    500ml water
    2 cubes of stock
    125ml crème fraiche
    2 Tbsp of olive oil
    2 cloves of garlic
    Spirulina pesto (see recipe) to taste
    Pumpkin seeds, to taste
    Fresh basil, to taste
    Salt and pepper, to taste

  • PESTO TOMATO SOUP

    How to

    Heat the oil in a pan. Add the garlic and let it cook over low heat. Add the chopped tomatoes. Pour the cans of tomatoes into the pan, add water and stock cubes. Bring it all to a boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

    Puree the soup with a blender. Add half of the crème frache. Season with salt and pepper.

    Serve the soup with a scoop of ALGAE pesto, some cream, basil and pumpkin seeds.

  • CUCUMBER GAZPACHO

    Ingredients for 2 serves

    1 cucumber
    1/4 shallot
    1 clove of garlic
    1/4 avocado
    1/4 cup fresh basil
    1/4 cup fresh mint
    1/2 cup fresh coriander
    1/2 Tsp of salt
    1 1/4 of water
    1 cup of greek yoghurt, low fat
    1 I AM ALGAE Spirulina cube

  • CUCUMBER GAZPACHO

    How to

    Peel, deseed and chop the cucumber.

    Place the ingredients in a blender, keep some greek yoghurt to add later and blend until smooth.
    Keep refrigerated until serving. You can make this a day in advance. Taste and adjust salt, spice level, and acid as desired.

    Spoon a large circle of low fat greek yogurt, then top with a swirl of Spirulina and garnishes.
